You Are Forever Loved

In gentle memory we gather here, To honor Cathy, ever dear. Born in winter’s quiet grace, A life of love, she did embrace. Beloved daughter, treasured wife, Catherine enriched every life. Mother cherished, grandma sweet, In her heart, joy made complete. Her smile warm, a constant light, Comforting all day and night. In times of joy or days of strain, She gave strength without refrain. Painting skies with gentle hand, Puzzles solved, footprints in sand. Lewes beaches, waves serene, At The Peninsula, peace was seen. Her heart held room for creatures great, Labradors black, companions innate. Birds in rescue, horses too, Volunteer spirit, strong and true. Traveler with adventurous stride, Communities touched, far and wide. Grace and Hockessin churches dear, Bethel and PEO held her near. Blue she favored, like sky above, Embracing all with warmth and love. Her legacy—compassion’s art, Lives within each grateful heart. Echoes whispered, soft and clear, Smiling memories we hold near. Her afterglow, a lasting sun, Happiness left when life was done. So here today, we softly say, Thank you Cathy, in every way. For joy you've brought, and love bestowed, Forever cherished, our hearts overflowed.

Cathy's Afterglow

"I'd like the memory of me To be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow Of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo Whispering softly down the ways. Of happy times and laughing times And bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve To dry before the sun. Of happy memories that I leave When life is done."
